MIKE STEVENS FOR VICTORVILLE CITY COUNCIL

 My campaign slogan is "Working to Restore, Improve and Protect Our Image." I chose this because for those who may not be aware…Victorville was once “ground zero” for all the retail, commercial and residential development in the High Desert.

The billboard along Mariposa Road (near the Victorville Golf Course) has for years proclaimed that Victorville is the “Key City of the High Desert.” Neighboring communities may not agree, but it’s hard to ignore the power and influence that Victorville has had—and to a great extent still has—in the development of the Victor Valley.

That’s why I want us to turn our attention to what once was our reputation (RESTORE), to enhance and increase the many attributes and amenities that make Victorville a great city (IMPROVE), and take steps to ensure that our community does not decline or deteriorate (PROTECT).

But it is going to take the community working WITH the City Council...a partnership! We all need to galvanize, mobilize and organize (remember GMO--the good kind) and MAKE SURE that we elect Council members with the right motivation, skills and commitment to realize this slogan…"Working to Restore, Improve and Protect Our Image."
